lest we forget the sufferings we got
from marcos regime that kills just for kicks
cruel dictator, we bravely did oust

should i write about rainbows, moon and lark
the flowing rivers or the swaying grass
or how i love thee, so deep in my heart
oh please forgive me, it just sounds so crass
apolitical me is just not true
i'd rather be than live a world so blue
and for the meantime, people are hungry
they are so helpless, hopeless and anxious
many are leaving to work overseas
migrating in droves, searching for graces
this is not the way to run a country
nor this can be settled with lip services
surveys did tell the people are angry
she should shape up or else face history.
we must define, decide and do something
to lessen the dread and uncertainties
you are either in or don't care 'bout them
but to work as one, this we must obtain
to better this world for our kids no less
to give them peace and bounty at its best.
I wrote this last year, 2007, after the SONA (State of the nation address) when our inutile president was promising us with super projects when majority of my people were experiencing hardship economically and those projects won't help them.
